Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, and insulin; manage patients with central lines, chest tubes, wound vacs, and multiple drains.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry waveforms and cardiac strips; manage patients on Airvo, continuous BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, including communication with family members and caregivers.
• Anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions, applying evidence-based clinical judgment across a primarily cardiac patient population including AFib, CHF, pre/post cath, open heart, respiratory, renal, stroke/TIA, and ICU stepdown transfers.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and advocate for patient safety, spiritual care, palliative care, and ethical considerations.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Certification required.
• Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available upon onboarding).
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; at least 6 months in an acute care hospital setting.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous cardiac and/or vascular nursing experience strongly preferred.
• CCRN or PCCN certification preferred.
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
• Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.
